I Am Scared

“The number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep on trying.” – Tom Hopkins

Ill be honest, I’m nervous as hell that I’m gonna make a mistake. I’ve never done any of this before.

But I’m certainly not gonna let that stop me.

Are you a doer?

Don’t be a talker. Be a doer.

I take that back – dont be JUST a talker, be a doer too!

Reasons it’s good to talk about your dreams:

1) People will hold you accountable “Didn’t you say you were gonna quit smoking?” “Didn’t you say you were gonna apply for that job?”

2) You gotta put it out to the Universe. Think about it, envision it, talk about it – all of those are actions that will become reality! Just don’t forget to go out and do something, you can look at pictures of paradise, wear your bathing suit and talk about the beach all day long, but until you buy a plane ticket you’re not gonna get there.

Back to life, back to reality

For everyone who went to their “paradise” for Memorial Day weekend and who is now heading “back to reality” – I ask, why? If you would rather live in paradise than where you currently waste away your existence in a daily grind of traffic and 9-5’s – why not make the change?? Make paradise your new reality. (Here’s a secret – society says its not possible, but it is…)

Don’t Let Fear Control You

“Trust that still, small voice that says, this might work and I’ll try it
.” – Diane Mariechild

An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

You have the power to control what you believe. Believe in yourself.

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Wake up! Your soul is getting bored.

We are conditioned to have routines. Wake up, go to work, come home, go to bed, do it again the next day. Occasionally we’ll spice things up a little bit, go dancing on Friday night, play hookie for the day, but we always fall back into that regular old routine. Don’t get me wrong, I think having a routine is a great way to stay organized and productive – but don’t let your routine control you. Having a routine also provides us security and comfort in a crazy world. We like to know what is coming next, we like to know that our next paycheck will be there 2pm on the 1st and 15th.

It’s that comfort that holds so many of us back. We’re too afraid to step out of the box and give something a chance if it messes with our routine.

“You will never change your life until you change something you do daily.” – Mike Murdock

So if that sounds like you, and your life is one big routine and you wonder why nothing is changing, start small. Take a different route to work today, eat somewhere different for lunch, take the day off and go to the beach. Take the first step and see where the staircase takes you.

Wake up! Your soul is getting bored!

Go on, make a move!

Albert Einstein once said “Nothing happens until something moves.”

So if you are out there wondering why you’re dreams hadn’t come true, why haven’t met your future husband or wife, or why you spend most of your
life working a job you despise – DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Yes it’s gonna be hard, and yes it’s gonna take effort; anything worth doing always does. But don’t be lazy, there’s no time to be lazy – life is too short!

“There’s always gonna be another mountain, I’m always gonna want to make it move” – Hannah Montana

Yes I quoted Hannah Montana, she made a good point ; )

Moving a mountain is a journey, have fun! Step out of your comfort zone. There is so much out there for you!

Focus. And most of all BELIEVE

Focus on what you want, not how you’ll attract it.

Do you want to win the lottery? No, you want the money that comes with winning the lottery.

Do you want money? No, you want the things that money can buy.

And even then, is that really what you want? Or do you want happiness and you think money is what will make you happy?

“Declare what you really want, appreciate what you already have, be looking for opportunities, and take action when you see them. That’s where miracles begin.” – Joe Vitale

Have a little faith

I’ve been absent for a few days because life has just been one chaotic mess. If you don’t know, my husband and I are selling all of our things, leaving our jobs, friends and the city of Austin that we love dearly, to move to Hawaii to open a Krav Maga/CrossFit studio. Long story short  – Krav Maga and CrossFit are our passion and we can’t wait to change the world through through fitness and self-defense! www.alohakravmaga.com

I have been absent because moving to an island in the middle of no where, trying to get a loan to start a business and figuring out how to ship our FIVE dogs over there, along with working my full time job still, has been very time consuming. And to top all of that – the Universe has been pushing me to my limits. Not a single thing has gone right in the last week. Nothing can just work the way its supposed to, it seems like everyone I interact with is incompetent in their jobs or someone didn’t pay attention to details, which leaves me completely screwed.

Needless to say, I am exhausted and have broken down many times over the last few days – all the while questioning why the universe has to make everything so freaking difficult! Why can’t anything work the way I want it to.

When I take a moment to step back and look at how things are working out –  I realize that the power of the mind really does work, I am still achieving what I have put out to the Universe, just not the way I thought I would.

The only time we are dissapointed in someone or something is when they do not meet our expectations.

If we accept people for who they are, and not who we want them to be, we would not have to go through the initial phase of dissapointment, only to later find out – they were perfect just the way they are – if we could have only accepted them that way in the first place.

And another thing…

Everything really does happen for a reason. Think back to a time something went wrong and you wondered, why you?

My boyfriend cheated on me two years ago, I was devastated. How could anyone treat someone that way?? But it also happened to be the first time I was single since I was 13 and I also just happened to be going on a cruise the following week. The same cruise that I met my husband on….

My point is, I have wasted a lot of energy being upset with the Universe this week (and this life), just to find out that it is working with me, not against me.

Keep your eyes on the prize, do everything with good intentions and hold tight to your faith, the Universe is listening…
